MISSION AND GOALS
Fillogreen’s mission is not just sorting but also enhancement of construction materials.
-
The purpose of sorting is to separate and then distribute dry materials without altering their appearance or quality so they can be recycled, enhanced, reused or sent to other enhancement centres.
-
Enhancement consists of processing materials brought to Fillogreen to add value through processing and thus increase their resale value.
Fillogreen therefore makes a tangible contribution in the Pontiac region and the greater Outaouais region to reducing the quantity of valuable dry materials entering dry material depots (DMD), trench landfill depots (TLD) or landfill sites.
Fillogreen therefore meshes fully with the Government of Quebec’s commitment, set out in its 2010-2015 waste management plan (Plan d’action de gestion des matières résiduelles 2010-2015), to divert as many materials as possible from landfill sites and to promote more environmentally friendly treatment such as recycling and enhancement.

Through material enhancement performed by the Sorting Centre, the company fully addresses the concern for environmental protection advocated by government authorities such as the Ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et des Parcs (MDDEP). From receipt of materials to their processing, the Pontiac Sorting Centre strives to minimize the quantity waste entering landfills.
